Janice Lorraine Wagner Branson, 84, of Vienna, died on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at University Medical Hospital in Columbia.

She was born Thursday, March 31, 1949, in Vienna, the daughter of Alfred and Pauline Leach Wagner.

She was united in marriage to Donald Branson, April 12, 1986, at the United Methodist Church in Vienna.

Janice was a teacher all of her life. She graduated high school from Maries R-I in Vienna and graduated with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business Education from the University of Missouri, Columbia.  She taught business classes in Union. After retiring, she was extremely active in the Ford Falcon Club and she stayed very active with quilting. Throughout her life, she was a member and held many positions in the Eastern Star over 49 years. She was a member of the First Family of Missouri, the Mayflower Society and Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by father, Alfred Wagner; husband, Donald Branson; and sister, Joanne Waterman-Rios.

Janice is survived by mother, Pauline Wagner of Vienna; brother, Owen Wagner (Beverly) of Linn; sisters, Janell Henry of Saint Joseph, Jane Honse (Wesley) of Vienna, and Janet Johnson (Eric) of Rolla; brother, Everett Wagner (Debbie) of Vienna; nieces and nephews, Kyle Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Katelyn Johnson Moreland, Rachel Johnson, Jennifer Wagner Massman, Crystal Wagner Williams, Angela Wagner, Julie Wagner, Joshua Wagner, Shayna Henry Jackson, Greta Kock Hager, Sara Koch Giles, Andrew Koch, Christine Waterman Gobble, Benjamin Waterman, Randall Wagner and Jason Wagner; and step-grandchildren, Ryan Goforth, Rodney Goforth and Dalton Giancola.

An Eastern Star Service was held Friday, June 9, at United Methodist Church in Vienna.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 10, at United Methodist Church in Vienna, with Pastor Larry Sorrells officiating.

Pallbearers were Kyle Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Randy Wagner, Tyler Johnson, Jason Wagner and Joshua Wagner. Interment was in Radar Cemetery, Vienna.
