The Vienna Police Department responded to several calls for service relating to domestic disputes and assaults during the month of August.

On Aug. 6 at approximately 3:40 p.m., officers from the Vienna Police Department and the Maries County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on Fifth Street and investigated a fight that had taken place between family members at that address. All parties declined to pursue criminal complaints.

On Aug. 22 at approximately 11:25 p.m., a Vienna Police officer responded to a call on Second Street and investigated a domestic disturbance. As a result of that investigation, a 40-year-old male was taken into custody and held in the Maries County Jail on a 12-hour hold. The complainant declined to pursue a criminal complaint.

On Aug. 25, officers from the Vienna Police and Maries County Sheriff’s Office responded to three separate incidents of domestic disputes that were reported on South Coffey Street. A 33-year-old male was transported to a family member’s residence to end the situation. The complainant declined to pursue a criminal complaint.

The following day at approximately 4 a.m., a Vienna Police officer responded back to the South Coffey Street address for a domestic disturbance. The 33-year-old male was taken into custody and held in the Maries County Jail on a 12-hour hold. An adult order of protection was issued later that day by the Maries County Associate Circuit Court.

At approximately 5:15 p.m., a Vienna Police officer returned to the address on South Coffey Street regarding a complaint of electronic harassment between the 33-year-old male and the petitioner of the protection order. The officer located the respondent, issued a verbal warning and clarified the court order.

The officer again responded to the address at approximately 11:45 p.m. The 33-year-old male had returned and attempted to enter the residence. The officer located the male a few minutes later in a camper located on East First Street where he was taken into custody and transported to the Maries County Jail where he was held pending the application of a warrant. He was later released on summons per the court.

The last six incidents occurred within a 26-hour period, 12 of which the 33-year-old male had been incarcerated.
