Deputy Scott John with the Maries County Sheriff’s Department Belle Division on Aug. 11 presented an itemized list of services for the month of July to Belle aldermen.
Dispatched calls included 242 calls for service; 85 business checks; 98 traffic stops of which 59 received warnings; 15 vehicle searches; and 50 court summons/citations. Deputies also conducted 38 arrests — 12 of which were felonies, 15 misdemeanors, and 11 outstanding warrants.
The department is also investigating two suspected heroin deaths.
“We continue to work diligently to make Belle a safer place to live,” an official with the department said. “We appreciate the tips, witness reports, and amazing support the Belle Community shows our deputies. It does not go unnoticed or unappreciated!”
