Carol Jacqualine Vassar, 81, of Vichy, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024, in the Maries Manor, Vienna.
She was born Dec. 6, 1942, a daughter of Carl Jackson and Margaret Rose (Shaw) McShan in Red Oak, Iowa.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church while living in Lexington, Neb. Carol was a member of the Eagles Club, Brothers of the Third Wheel and The Ladies in the Wind.
Carol was employed with Monroe Shocks of Cozad, Neb., for 21 years, retiring in 2001 and moving to Missouri April 2021.
She was preceded in death by parents, Carl and Margaret; son, Terry Jean Vassar; and sisters, Virginia Lee Ashcraft, Teri Joe Benham and Wanda Fay Rogers.
She is survived by husband, Sammie Douglas Vassar of Fremont, Neb.; children, Carma Jo Ernesti (Carl) of Vichy; James M. Head (Angie) of Cozad, Neb., and Teresa C. Brestel (Ron) of Lincoln, Neb.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Jeri L. Underwood (Stanley) of Lexington, Neb.; and other siblings, Shirley McShan, Sharon McShan, Sandy McShan, and Charles Daniel McShan.
Following the wishes of Carol, the family elected cremation.
