Crown Power buys Schaeperkoetter Sales & Service

Posted

Crown Power & Equipment closed Oct. 1 on the purchase of Schaeperkoetter  Sales & Service, Co., in Mt. Sterling, and  Brian Schaeperkoetter’s Kubota of the Ozarks store in Springfield, Mo.

“Crown Power & Equipment is excited to have a new location in Mount Sterling,” said Harold Chapman, Jr., the firm’s general manager. “We ask that you be patient as we are starting from scratch with our parts inventory. We understand this is not the best timing. We had hoped this purchase would have occurred earlier this year. Please be patient as we get the facilities reorganized, cleaned up, and restock parts inventory and equipment. We look forward to sharing our parts and equipment inventory from all 10 of our Missouri locations with the Mount Sterling and Owensville communities. Visit our website www.crown-power.com to learn more about us.”

The sale price was not being disclosed by Crown Power but the Columbia-based company is excited about the opportunity to do business in Gasconade County and the Owensville area.

“We’re really excited to join your community,” said Sarah Chapman who does marketing and advertising for the Kubota and Case iH dealership which began with two stores in 1992. “We feel like that store is a good fit for our organization, for our Kubota and Case iH dealerships. It fits our demographics. With the dealerships we already have, Mt. Sterling was a perfect fit for our Crown Power family.”

Brian Blaue will manage the Mt. Sterling facility and Chapman said employees there have all been offered their positions with the new company.

“There was a good crew in place and we’re happy to have them join us,” Chapman said. She said the business in Mt. Sterling will continue to be a “full shop” with service, parts and sales of Kubota and Case iH mowers and machinery.

“We think he is a rock star,” said Chapman about Blaue. “We look forward to working with him and his staff. This is a new position for him and we’re proud to have him leading the store.”

The company’s updated listing of employees at the Mt. Sterling site include Blaue as manager; Jeremy Cobb, Terrick Ellis, and Jessie Price handling sales; Peggy Sue Schneiders handling administrative duties; and Clell K. Baker, Luke Scego and Douglas Klein in the parts department. Listed as service staff are Edwin A. Bossaller, Roger Samson, Christian Uthe, Zech Hinch, Kelvin L. Kurrelmeyer, and Harold Ladyman.

Jeffrey “Buster” Garth is listed as the truck driver based in Mt. Sterling.

The firm’s website site noted “Welcoming Mount Sterling and Springfield to our Crown Family. Please be patient with our transition.”

With the purchase of the dealership from Schaeperkoetter, the store in Owensville will no longer be a Kubota dealership. “It’s very short term Owensville will be open,” said Chapman.

Several calls to Schaeperkoetter for comment were not returned by deadline.

Serving Missouri communities Crown Power & Equipment began 27 years ago with stores in Columbia and Jefferson City. A store in Eldon was acquired in 1993 and in 1995 they opened one in La Monte. In 1998 they added a story in California, MO in 1998. In 1999 dealerships were  opened in Salisbury and Sedalia.

In 2001, the Salisbury store was moved to a new location and the Sedalia store was merged with the La Monte facility.

Crown Power & Equipment opened a store in Bolivar and added another one in southwest Missouri in the Monett community in 2017. Their store in Macon in north-central Missouri opened in 2018.

The firm also is a dealer for Case CE and Cub Cadet equipment.
