Douglas Harold Steen, 62, Woodstock, Va., formerly of Apple Valley, Calif. and Maries County, passed away Monday, Nov. 25, 2019, at Winchester Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 29, 1957, to Harold Logan and Hazel Verlee Steen, in Steelville.
Douglas was a 1975 Belle High School graduate and attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Bolivar and University of Missouri, Rolla. He had been employed as a writer for Microsoft and as an IT consultant to many firms.
He was preceded in death by parents, Harold and Hazel; and grandparents.
He is survived by children, Faith Steen of Woodstock, Va., Elizabeth Alexander and husband Sam of Augusta, Ga., Doug Steen of Montclair, Calif., and Meghan Steen of Grovetown, Ga.; brothers, Christopher Steen and wife De and Timothy Steen; sisters, Sherry Kellogg and husband Harry and Victoria Steen; and two grandsons.
A celebration of life was held Friday, Nov. 29, at Strasburg Community Center. Memorial contributions suggested to Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
