While their season may have ended three weeks ago, four Vienna Eagle baseball players coached by Tyler Shalbot recently saw additional postseason honors come their way.
In addition to their accolades from the Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC), the VHS baseball quartet of Logan Agan, Dylan Buschmann, McCrae Fuller and Gavin Stricklan were selected to their respective Class 2, District 9 All-District baseball teams.
Agan and Buschmann were first-team selections while Fuller and Stricklan were named to the All-District second team.
Joining Agan and Buschmann as first-team honorees were Nick Thompson (Russellville), Tyler Renn (Eugene), Garrett Ray (Iberia), Mason Stewart (Russellville), Ethan Adrian (Eugene), Austin Roe (Russellville), Zach Voss (Iberia), Dawson Koch (Russellville) and Tre Kempker (Eugene).
Second-team selections in addition to Fuller and Stricklan were Collin Riemensnider (Iberia), Matt Miller (Russellville), Trent Morrow (Russellville), Jake Whittle (Iberia), Isaac Lawson (Iberia), Billy Parr (Eugene), Gavin Magers (Eugene), Landon Plochberger (Russellville) and Jonathon Lieb (Calvary Lutheran).
Vienna saw their season end in the district semifinals following a 7-6 loss to Eugene.
In the district championship game, Eugene fell to Russellville 3-2. Russellville eventually saw their season end at the hands of Skyline in the sectional round.
Throughout the regular season, Vienna suffered losses to eventual Class 1 state champion St. Elizabeth, Class 3 state champion Blair Oaks and Class 3 state runner-up Fatima.
