Eight county harriers medal at St. James

Closing the September portion of their cross country season, runners from Belle and Vienna all competed last Wednesday at St. James Golf Course and the St. James Invitational.

Starting with the middle school boys race, Bland’s Trenton Burnett added to his growing medal stash with a fourth place time of 9:07.2.

Five places and seven seconds out of the top 20 and a medal, Vienna’s Duncan Wilkinson paced the Eagles with a 25th-place time of 10:14.3.

Baylar Smith placed 60th for the Bears in a time of 11:10. Cash Stricklan was the next Maries County finisher for Vienna placing 77th in 11:41.4.

Alijah Mercer placed 80th for Vienna in a time of 11:45.2 followed by Weston Patton’s 84th-place time of 11:47.8.

Gavin Schwartze was Vienna’s final scoring runner placing 101st in 12:49.5

Vienna (284) placed 12th in the middle school boy’s team standings in a field loaded with schools much bigger than the Eagles.

Cami Doyel was the lone county medalist in the middle school girl’s race with a fourth-place time of 10:27.8 for Vienna.

Nevaeh Kinsey took 28th place for Bland in a time of 11:46.7. Kiera Hollis finished 51st for Vienna’s middle school girls in a time of 12:45.

Andrea Novak followed closely behind Hollis placing 53rd in 12:51.5.

Beth Martin clocked in with an 81st-place time of 13:51.3 for Vienna.

Alia Terwilliger rounded out Vienna’s contingency of middle school girls with a 90th-place time of 14:43.9 helping them place 10th in the team standings.

Four county harriers left St. James with medals following the junior varsity boys race.

Corey McDaniel showed the way with a third-place time of 19:41 for Belle with teammate Jorge Uribes placing fourth in 20:04.1. Josiah Hance made it three Tigers in the top-10 with a ninth-place time of 21:05.2.

Vienna sophomore Jehoshua Casey earned one of the last remaining medals with a 16th-place time of 23:25.4.

Morgan Lake also placed 29th for Vienna in the JV Boy’s race with a time of 26:15.7.

Belle freshman Kierra Finn earned the lone medal in the varsity girl’s race with a 13th-place time of 24:05.2.

Vienna’s Caleb Horman posted the best finish of the day among county runners with a second-place time of 18:00.3 in the varsity boy’s race.

Evan Casey also finished 36th in a time of 21:27.1
