James “Jim” Barbour Baldwin, Jr, 84, of Belle, passed away Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 21, 1938 to James Barbour Baldwin, Sr, and Margaurite (Elliott) Baldwin in Front Royal Va.

Jim graduated from high school in Warren County, Va. and following high school, served his country in the U.S. Army.

He was united in marriage to Joan Heimann, Nov. 22, 1996, in Okla. Their marriage was blessed by the Catholic Church on Dec. 8, 2010.

Jim was a member of the St Alexander’s Catholic Church in Belle, where he sat on the parish council for several years. Jim was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus and served as the district deputy for a time. He also served as the state advocate to the Missouri Knights of Columbus, a chairman of the Missouri Catholic Conference, was commander of the honor guard, and a member of American Legion Post 317. Jim served as a police officer in Alexandra, Va., but his life-long occupation was rodeoing.   

He was preceded in death by parents, James and Margaurite.

Jim is survived by wife Joan; sons, James Barbour Baldwin, III and wife Mary of Labadie, David Elliott Baldwin of Pacific, and Patrick Lee Baldwin of St. Louis; grandchildren, David Baldwin, Zachary Baldwin, and James Barbour Baldwin, IV; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday (today), Sept. 20, at St. Alexanders Catholic Church, from 9–11 a.m., with a Mass of Christian burial following with Fr. Mark Porterfield officiating.
