James William Nichols, 72, Bland, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 27, 1946, to William Audra and Luna Mae (Baty) Nichols, in Jefferson Country, Ala.
He was united in marriage to Norma Recker, June 27, 1969, in St. Louis.
James served in the U.S. Army, receiving a purple heart. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville and a member of Teamsters Local #688.
He was preceded in death by parents William and Luna.
He is survived by wife, Norma, of the home; children, Kimberly Bettis and husband Scott and James Nichols, all of Wentzville; sister, Kathy Humphres of Nashville, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Aug. 12, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville with Fr. Wayne Boyer officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with full military honors. Memorial contributions suggested to Siteman Cancer Center.
