James “J.C.” Curtis Rhodes, 68, passed away peacefully Friday, March 8, 2024, at his residence in Bland.
He was born Jan. 28, 1956, the youngest child of Louis and Vera (Franklin) Rhodes in Rolla.
J.C. enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, and riding his side-by-side with his friends. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with Bo Bo and Dottie. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Owensville.
He was preceded in death by parents, Louis and Vera Rhodes; and sisters, Sheila Rhodes, Marlene Franklin, Norma Bright, Fern Lauman and Geraldine Ward.
J.C. is survived by daughter, Tracey Peters of Kansas City; and siblings, Sharon Janey and husband Terry of Beaufort, Bud Rhodes and wife Kim of Bland, Mary Hafner and husband Mervin of Bland, Nancy Willson and husband Roger of Jefferson City, and Frank Rhodes and wife Diane of Bland.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 12, at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home Chapel in Owensville with Pastor Mike Stockton officiating. Burial will be at Oak Forest Cemetery in Bland.
