Jason Paul “Jake” Burgess, 42, of Dixon, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023 in the Mercy Hospital, Springfield.
He was born April 19, 1981, to Robert Gene and Brenda Kay (Malone) Burgess.
He was a graduate of Dixon High School and was a member of the Sheppard Baptist Church. Jason worked as a bank manager for a short time, but worked mostly as a waiter in Rolla, St. Robert and the Kansas City area.
Jason was preceded in death by mother, Brenda; maternal grandparents, Shirley and Blondie Kizer and Pat Malone; and paternal grandmother, Patsy Fenton.
He is survived by father, Bob Burgess, Dixon; siblings, Shawn (Shannon) Burgess Matherly of Lebanon and Mindy (Kevin) Meeker of Fair Grove.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 3, with Pastor Danny Bassett, Burnett Church officiating. A private burial was in the Sheppard Cemetery.
