Jerry Schuman Prior, 71, of Belle, passed away Dec. 26, 2023, at Columbia University Hospital.
He was born Sept. 27, 1952, to Estul Prior and Anna Marie Coates Prior in South Bend, Wash. Jerry came from a family of five siblings. Jerry was the second oldest and only his sister Sherry Prior Bond is living. Jerry’s mom, Anna of Belle and his sister Sherry from Anchorage, Alaska survives.
Jerry and his mother came to Missouri in 1980 as his Mother married Jim Helmig. They moved to a farm. Jerry joined in with the many adventures of Missouri.
Jerry was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Belle, in 1988. He loved to work with the young men in the Big A’s with Chris Cook.
He loved to work at the Mission. He became very involved and it was special to him. He was given an Eagle Watch for being volunteer of the year.
Jerry loved Clown Camp and was the Major of Clown Camp for several years.
He has been a member of Church Alive for over 20 years.
