John Clinton McMinn, 95, of Rolla, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Oak Point of Rolla.
He was born April 3, 1928, to Fred and Tina (Terwilliger) McMinn in Maries County.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1951–53, when he was honorably discharged at the rank of sergeant.
Clinton was united in marriage to Dorothy Irene O’Haver, Jan. 29, 1950, in Rolla.
He attended Bellvue Church, near Rolla, and was baptized at the First Christian Church, Rolla. Clinton was member of the MFA organization and served on the Coffman School schoolboard. He worked as a meat cutter for 45 years and at the time of his retirement was the co-owner of the Cowans IGA, Rolla.
He was preceded in death by parents, Fred and Tina; wife, Dorothy; daughter, Janet Kay Thompson; siblings, Mary Blackwell, Allie Prewett, Lucy Spencer, Virgie Maxwell, Margie Davis, and infant sister, Ruby McMinn.
He is survived by daughters, Patricia A. Harris (Dennis) of Rolla and Linda Sue Hays (Shorty) of Vienna; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; son-in-law, David Thompson of Carson City, Nev.; brother, Robert McMinn of Vichy; and sister, Nina Barks of Bakersfield, Calif.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 6, from 10–11 a.m., in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home Chapel, Vienna, with funeral services following at 11 a.m., with Pastor Chris Slocum officiating, followed by full military honors.
Inurnment will be in the Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens, Rolla, at later date.
