Junior Ralph Jones, 90, Dixon, passed away Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019.

He was born Feb. 27, 1929, to Clay and Mayme (Nichols) Jones, near Dixon.

He was united in marriage to Sally Lou Casey, Dec. 24, 1950, in Harrison, Ark.

Junior was a member of Gasconade Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason at Crane Lodge #519 A.F. & A.M. in 1965 and transferred to Arlington Lodge #346 A.F. & A.M. in Dixon and went on to the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry 32nd degree, in St. Louis. Junior was a certified deputy sheriff in Pulaski County from 1976 to 2014.  He also served as a member of the Dixon School Board from 1970 to 1979, and 1981 to 1982, and served as president for two years. He worked on road construction as a heavy equipment operator for 12 years.  He also worked for the Department of the Army in roads and grounds and the carpenter shop for 25 years. He raised beef cattle and farmed from 1956 to 2017.

He was preceded in death by wife, Sally; parents, Clay and Mayme; son-in-law, Freddy McKinnon; and sister, Dorothy Jones.

He is survived by son, Mark Wesley Jones and wife Jamie of Dixon; daughters, Kitsy Jane McKinnon and Penny Lou Sisco and husband Rick, all of Dixon; brother, Norman Dempsey Jones and wife Naomi of Belle; sisters, Ruth Allee of Sleeper and Helen Cartwright of Anchorage, Alaska; and eight grandchildren, three bonus grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, eight bonus great-grandchildren and one bonus great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held (today) Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 5-7 p.m. with a Masonic service folling at 7 p.m. and from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, with funeral services following at 11 a.m., all in Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. Interment with full military honors will be in Sheppard Cemetery near Dixon. Memorial contributions suggested to Sheppard Cemetery Association, Dixon.
