Lawrence Herman Falter, 95, Koeltztown, passed away Thursday, Oct.8, 2020, in StoneBridge Westphalia.
He was born Aug. 31, 1925, to Joseph Fred and Anna Josephine (Bax) Falter in Freeburg.
He was united in marriage to Lillian Marie Borgmeyer, May 7, 1949, in Koeltztown.
Lawrence served his country in the U. S. Navy from Feb. 21 until July 24, 1946, when he was honorably discharged.
He was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Koeltztown, where he was baptized and received his education and was also a member of the Argyle Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States of America Post 8045 in Argyle. Lawrence was a lifelong farmer in Osage County, prior to his retirement.
He was preceded in death by parents, Fred and Anna; son, James John Falter; one grandson; brothers, Emil Frank Falter, Henry Joseph Falter and Jerome Frank Falter; sisters, Teresa Frances Kloeppel and Martha M. Hobbs.
Lawrence is survived by wife of over 71 years, Lillian of the home in Koeltztown; children, Daniel J. Falter and wife Linda of Freeburg, Allen F. Falter and wife Connie of Argyle, Carolyn Forck and husband Dennis of Taos, Richard L. Falter and wife Laure, Leroy F. Falter and wife Leigh Ann and Paul H. Falter and wife Sandy, all of Koeltztown and Joan E. Stratman and husband Victor of Vienna; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Leander Falter and wife Teresa and Norbert Falter and wife Anne, all of Westphalia; sister-in-law, Darlene Falter of Freeburg; and nephews, nieces, with greats and great-greats as well.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held, Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m., in the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Koeltztown with the Rev. James Finder officiating.
Interment, with full military honors by American Legion Post 317, Freeburg, was in the St. Boniface Cemetery in Koeltztown.
Memorial contributions suggested to the “Honor Flight” program for veterans, Masses, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Arrangements entrusted to Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Vienna.
