Loyd Ray Kinkead, 81, of Vienna, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024, at the Phelps County Regional Hospital.

He was born December 9, 1942, a son to the late Loyd and Imogene (Ridenhour) Kinkead in Belle.

He was a 1960 graduate of Belle High School. Loyd was baptized at the Cooper Hill Church when he was young.

Loyd was united in marriage to Jovita Karch, Oct. 22, 1993. Jovita survives of their home in Vienna.

He was an over the road truck driver for Conoco before retiring after over 40 years of employment.

Loyd enjoyed woodworking, going to car shows, and working on his 52 Chevy when he was younger. He loved anything western. John Wayne movies, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and even owned all the Louis L’Amour books which he read cover to cover. Loyd was a bit ornery with a great sense of humor. He loved children and was a loving, kind, caring man and if he picked on you, it meant he liked you. Loyd will be missed by his family and anyone who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by parents, Loyd and Imogene; and brothers, Donald, Fredrick, and Dennis Kinkead.

Loyd is survived by wife of 31 years, Jovita; son, Jeff Kinkead and wife April of Fairview, Ill.; step-sons, William Lemons and wife Yvonne of Plant City, Fla., and Jeff Lemons and wife Heather of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; grandchildren, Brett Kinkead and wife Jessica, Presley and husband Blake, Jacob Lemons and Kaylee Lemons; great-grandchildren, Laila, Abbey, Kooper, Luke, and Laney; and brothers, Gary Kinkead and wife Sharron of Belle, and Duane Kinkead of Alvin, Texas; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

In keeping with Loyd’s wishes, no services are planned.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the family of Loyd Kinkead.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sassmann’s Chapel, Belle.
