A Dixon man has been charged with three felony drug charges in Maries County following a report of a man walking along a county road carrying a gun.

Maries County Sheriff Chris Heitman reported that on Sunday, Dec. 1, Deputy Keegan Bonham responded MCR 626 and saw Leon Weed, 38, of Dixon on the road with a gun. The investigation revealed Weed possessed a controlled substance and he was arrested.

Maries County Prosecuting Attorney Anthony “Tony” Skouby has charged Weed with three class C felony charges of delivery of a controlled substance and one misdemeanor charge of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia by a prior drug offender.

He is in the Maries County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
