The Phelps-Maries County Health Department reports both Maries and Phelps Counties are in Category 1 and residents are warned they are at extreme risk of contracting the Covid-19 coronavirus.
On Nov. 19 the health department said Maries County’s PCR 7 day positivity rate was 25 percent. The county’s seven day case rate per 100K is 448.4. The Category 1 is 15 percent or above positively rate.
In neighboring Phelps County, the PCR 7-day positivity rate was reported lower than Maries County’s at 16.49 percent, but still in the extreme risk category.
The State of Missouri Public Health Warning was issued Friday. It recommends business occupancy limits reflective of social distancing, social group size of 10 or less, and strongly advised wearing masks in all offices and businesses where social distancing is not possible.
