Mary Rhonda Holman, 86, of New Bloomfield, formerly of Dixon, passed away Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023, at her residence.

She was born March 4, 1937,  to Hess Warren and Helen Ruth (Light) Goforth in Liberty, Texas. 

She was united in marriage to Lonnie Richard Holman, May 30, 1959, in Dixon.

Rhonda was a 1955 graduate of Dixon High School and while in school, she was selected to attend Missouri Girls State. 

She was a member of the Dixon United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the UMW (United Methodist Women) and had been a Youth Leader. After moving, Rhonda attended the Christian Church in New Bloomfield.

Rhonda was employed by Goforth Uregas and Appliances, Town and Country and IGA grocery stores, secretary to the principal at Dixon school, and as a full-time childcare provider, all in Dixon, until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by husband, Lonnie; daughter, Mary Kay Lilly; parents, Hess and Helen; and brother, Warren Goforth.

She is survived by son, Rev. Todd Holman of Cuba; daughters, Wendy Miller and husband David of Iberia, and Faith Baxter and husband Mark of New Bloomfield; brother, Wesley Goforth and wife Kathy of Hilton Head, S.C.; sisters-in-law, Shirley Goforth of Waynesville and Sandra Patton of Vienna; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 28, from 11 a.m.–1 p.m., in the Dixon United Methodist Church, Dixon, with a Celebration of Life service following in the church with Rev. Tony Townley and Rev. Mitchel Henson officiating. The inurnment was in the Dixon Cemetery.
