Over 30 tractors on display at Leroy Tipton Memorial Tractor Cruise

Posted

The members of the Vichy Volunteer Fire Department and the tractor enthusiasts who came out for the tractor cruise last Sunday had a beautiful day to enjoy a tractor ride in Mid-Missouri.

Fire Department Board member Bonnie Prigge said there were 32 tractors this year for the Sixth Annual Leroy Tipton Memorial Tractor Cruise. It was a bit warm but the tractor cruise began in the morning and traveled about 24 miles. The tractor cruise began at the Vichy Community Park and first headed to Highway FF, traveling into Phelps County at the county line. The tractor cruise included a rest stop at the Rose Oak Acres on Highway P.

Prigge said there was good attendance at the fire department’s whole hog sausage and chicken & dumpling dinner as they had just enough food to feed all the diners.

The Vichy Fire Department will donate 10 percent of the dinner proceeds to the Vienna Fire Department to help the six injured firefighters with expenses. And 63 Auto & Truck Parts LLC (Mike, Bonnie and Logan Prigge) will match the donation up to $500. A donation jar also was at the dinner for individual donations to the firemen. Prigge said she thinks about $1,000 will be given to the firemen from the dinner and from donations.

As always, Prigge said thanks to the community as they appreciate everyone coming out and supporting the fire department.
