Robert Lee Smith, 71, of Vienna, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
He was born Feb. 15, 1953, to Elvie and Betty (Sisco) Smith in Taos, N.M.
He was united in marriage to Debbie Havens, May 26, 1973.
Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1972–74 during the Vietnam Era and was honorably discharged. He was a member of the Vienna Church of Christ where he also served as a Deacon.
He was preceded in death by parents Elvie and Betty Smith; and mother- and father-in-law, Paul and Billie Havens.
Robert is survived by wife of 51 years, Debbie of the home; daughters, Stacey Duncan and husband Chad, and Melissa Parker and husband Jeremy all of Vienna; brothers, Richard Smith and wife Margie of Jefferson City, and Elvie Lee of Rich Fountain; sisters, Virginia Brophy of Vienna, and Jane Tennyson of Rolla; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandsons.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 2, at the Vienna Church of Christ with Rex Tennyson officiating. Interment with military honors was at Vienna Public Cemetery.
Memorials suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
