Ronald Allen “Ronnie” Rollins, Sr., 81, Dixon, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born May 31, 1939, to Thedora and Nellie Rollins near Dixon.
He was united in marriage June 30, 1978, to Dixie Carmolita Grant, in St. Louis.
Ronnie was a 1957 graduate of Dixon High School. He worked raising beef cattle and as an over-the-road truck driver hauling heavy equipment for highway construction until his retirement from Clarkson Construction in Kansas City in 2001. Ronnie was a member of the Teamsters Union Local No. 541 in Kansas City and a member of Santee Community Church in Dixon.
He was preceded in death by parents, Allen and Nellie.
He is survived by wife, Dixie of the home; sons, Ronnie Jr. and wife, Connie, Donnie and wife, Tammy and Derek Rollins, all of Dixon; brothers, Lonnie and wife, Virginia, and Jerry and wife, Carolyn, all of Dixon; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held Thursday July 16th, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home in Dixon, with Rev. Shannon Perry of Santee Community Church in Dixon officiating. Interment was in the Dixon Cemetery.
