Bryan and Wilma Rowden of Meta wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Melanie Rowden, to Anthony “Tony” Swarthout, son of Jeff and Carrie Swarthout of Freeburg.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Warren and Mary Joyce Helton of Vienna and Herbert and the late Eugenia “Jane” Rowden of Vienna. She is a 2017 graduate of Lincoln University and is employed with Maries R-1 Elementary School.
The groom-to-be is the grandson of Donnie and Cecilia Schmitz and the late Bob Becker of Freeburg and Dave and Kay Swarthout of Vienna. He is employed with Thermal Tech.
The couple is planning an Oct. 17, 2020, wedding.
