Sheila Mae Wansing, 70, Springfield, Ohio, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2020, at her residence following several years of failing health.

She was born Nov. 3, 1949, to Donald D. and Dortha L. (Harding) Smith, at Dayton, Ohio.

She was united in marriage to Alvin Daniel Wansing, Sept. 16, 1972, at Dayton, Ohio.

Sheila was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Springfield, Ohio. She as a licensed cosmetologist and later worked as a sales associate at several department stores, eventually retiring from Lowe’s. She was the founder and operator of Champion City Consulting, LLC.

She was preceded in death by parents, Donald and Dortha; and her grandparents.

She is survived by husband, Alvin, of the home; children, Daniel Wansing of Gresham, Ore., and Lee Anne Shepherd and husband Jeremy of Enon, Ohio; brothers, Edward Smith and wife Belinda of Columbus, Ohio, and David Smith and wife Yumi of Beaver Creek, Ohio; and two grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service was held Saturday, April 18, in the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery in Vienna with Rev. Matthew Flatley officiating. Memorial contributions suggested to Project Woman, Springfield, Ohio.
