Maries County Sheriff’s Deputy, Corporal Donnie Chambers, was surprised with a luncheon recently by members of the Maries County Sheriff’s Office, courthouse staff, and the Chambers family. They gathered to celebrate his 30 years of service to the people of the county with his work with the Maries County Sheriff’s Office.
A lifelong native of Maries County, Corporal Chambers began his career Oct. 20, 1989 as a 911 Dispatcher before becoming a sworn Deputy. He has served under five different sheriff’s, including Sheriff Roy Bassett, Sheriff Doug DiNatale, and Sheriff Chris Heitman. Sheriff Heitman said Chambers and his service to the citizens of the county is respected and admired by many.
Corporal Chambers’s primary role currently is as the Circuit Court Bailiff. He also is the transport officer for the Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Chris Heitman presented Corporal Chambers with the Sheriff’s Excellence Award for his years of service to the office and citizens of this county.
