Susan Kay Lekey, 81, of rural Dixon, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 21, 1941, to Patrick Aloysius and Mary Helen (Renfrow) Fitzpatrick in St. Louis.
She was united in marriage to Billy Eugene Lekey, March 29, 1958, in East St. Louis, Ill.
Susan was a member of First Baptist Church, Vienna. She graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing, O’Fallon, with her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse her entire working career until her retirement from General Leonard Wood Community Hospital.
She was preceded in death by parents, Patrick and Mary; grandson, Ryan Lekey; and brother, Doug Scott.
She is survived by husband of 65 years, Bill Lekey, of the home; sons, Dr. Rod Lekey (Kimberly) of Gravois Mills, Keith Lekey of Vienna, and Scott Lekey (Amy) of Dixon; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
A memorial funeral service will be held at a later time.
