A Belle man and his 11-year-old female passenger were injured in a one-vehicle accident just east of Gerald at 8:29 p.m. Sunday.
Christopher J. Wise, 45, was traveling east on U. S. Highway 50 just past Canaan Road in a 1988 Ford Mustang. Wise traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.
Wise was arrested at 10:01 p.m. and with driving while intoxicated (drugs) with serious physical injury.
Cpl. E. R. Kessler, with Troop C of the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that neither the driver nor juvenile passenger from Nixa were using seat belts.
Both people in the car were transported to Mercy Washington by Gerald ambulance. The juvenile was seriously injured while Wise suffered moderate injuries.
The Mustang was totalled and towed from the scene.
The Gerald-Rosebud Fire Department also responded to assist with the accident.
