A Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper and a private citizen both received minor injuries Monday evening in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 63 in front of Weidinger Chevrolet in the Vienna City limits.
According to the patrol, Trooper Brian N. Crawford, 42, Rolla, and private citizen Mark R. Moss, 67, Dittmer, both received injuries and were transported to Phelps Health in Rolla. Crawford was taken in a patrol vehicle and Moss was transported by Maries-Osage Ambulance.
The accident occurred at 5:10 p.m. as Moss, driving a 2009 Chevrolet Suburban northbound, pulled into the path of a northbound 2020 Ford Explorer patrol vehicle, causing the Explorer to impact the driver side of the vehicle. The Explorer came to rest in the roadway and the Suburban traveled across the roadway, coming to rest in the west ditch.
Both drivers were wearing safety devices. Both vehicles were totaled and the patrol reported the cost of damage to the 2020 Explorer at $30,000.
Ron Dishman’s Towing of Rolla towed the patrol vehicle and Plaza Service of Vienna towed the Suburban.
