Vichy residents may be excited to see a new building at the site of the old Vichy Post Office that went up last Wednesday, Aug. 14, in the afternoon. However, TJ Ware, Rolla Post Office supervisor, said there is still not an official opening date for residents to look forward to. JE Novak Construction Company based out of St. Louis placed the new building on the foundation with a crane last week. It is one step closer to residents of Vichy receiving their mail from the local facility again. The previous Vichy Post Office was closed down unexpectedly in February due to termite damage to the existing structure.
