VIENNA — In the spirit of holiday cheer and community celebration, the Vienna Chamber of Commerce and the Vienna Main Street organizations announce the upcoming Christmas Around the Square event. Set to take place on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 25, the festival promises an evening filled with merriment, laughter and festive activities for residents of all ages.

The festivities kick off at 4 p.m. with the Vienna Lion’s Club sponsored grand entrance of Santa Claus, who will be stationed at the old bank, ready to receive the heartfelt wishes of eager children. The Vienna Lion’s Club will have a bag of goodies for each child who visits Santa. This marks the beginning of an evening that will transform Vienna’s historic square into a winter wonderland of holiday magic.

This year’s event boasts an extensive array of activities designed to enchant and entertain attendees. Families can participate in kid-friendly games, wander through a Christmas tree farm and enjoy photo opportunities in a sleigh or with a real, live reindeer. For those seeking a bit of nostalgia, sleigh rides will be available, offering a charming journey through the heart of Vienna.

The aromas of the season will be in the air as the Soup Stroll and Cookie Crawl offer delicious treats to warm your spirits. Local food and drink vendors will also be on hand to provide a taste of Vienna’s culinary delights.

Young ones can revel in the holiday spirit at Santa’s workshop, located at the library, where festive crafts and activities will be available. The bounce house, igloo/balloon house and a scavenger hunt, will add an extra layer of excitement for the kids.

Entertainment will be in abundance on the south side of the courthouse, with performances by the Dance Academy, the Vienna Cheerleaders and the musical talents of George Arbuckle to name a few. Their performances promise to add a touch of magic to an already enchanting evening.

To finish the evening, at 6 p.m., a lighted parade will wind its way around the square promising to be the highlight of the evening, featuring brilliantly adorned floats, cheerful performers and the magic of the holiday season on full display.

This event is not just a celebration of the holiday season but also a showcase of the vibrant and diverse small businesses that contribute to the unique character of Vienna.
