It took North Ward Alderman Tyler “TC” James taking back the city mayor position to get it done, but all of the Vienna City Council positions needing to be filled will have a person on the council.
Vienna City Clerk Sherry James said both North Ward council positions were up for election as well as one South Ward position. The mayor’s job has been unfilled since Jeremy Smith resigned and moved. Two people filed for the North Ward—Reva Hutchison who currently holds a council seat, and Rita Juergens who was on the city council in the past. TC James currently is a North Ward Alderman and he agreed to take back the mayor’s position to help city government run more efficiently. South Ward Alderwoman Brenda Davis also filed for reelection.
None of the council positions are opposed by another candidate so Vienna does not need to be on the April Municipal Election ballot.
