Wayne Russell Robertson, 77, of Vienna, passed away Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023, in Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City.

He was born June 17, 1946, the son of Willard Collins and Nola Louise (Blackwell) Robertson in Vienna. 

Wayne entered active federal service in the U.S. Army Dec. 7, 1965, in St. Louis, and served until Dec. 6, 1967, when he was honorably discharged at Fort Hood, Texas, at the rank of Specialist Fifth Class. During his military career, he was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion 66th Armor, 2nd Armored Division, Fort Hood, Texas, 4th U.S. Army, as a general vehicle repairman specialist. He was awarded and entitled to wear the National Defense Service Medal, the Driver and Mechanic Badge with Wheel Bar, and the Expert Rifle Badge.

He was united in marriage to Christine Ann Parker, Nov. 24, 2007, in Vienna.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Vienna, and had attended Hughes Chapel Methodist Church in Maries County.

Wayne was employed as a machinist for Brown Shoe Company in Dixon and Langenberg Hat Company in Vienna. He had also been employed by Maries R-1 Schools in custodial and maintenance work prior to his full retirement. Wayne was a member of Lischwe-Brandel American Legion Post 354 in Brinktown.

He was preceded in death parents, Willard and Nola.

He is survived by wife, Christine, of their home in Vienna; son, Rusty Robertson and wife Erin of Vienna; and two grandsons.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 26, in the First Baptist Church, Vienna, with Pastor Chris Slocum officiating. Interment with full military honors was in Kenner Cemetery, Dixon.
