Weather does not stop 2019 Harvest Festival

Belle Harvest Festival attendees did not let cold rainy weather stop them from have a fun filled day. The festival was moved from downtown to the shelter of the sale barn at the city park. Large crowds gathered to watch the Dance teams, crowning of the queens and shop at the many venders. Corn Husk Cutie winners where Maddix Devine and Jaelyn Perkins (front from left). Team Clover, a Osage/Maries Relay for Life team, hosted the corn husk cutie contest. The contest raised $1,901.54 for the 2020 Relay for Life.

Corn Husk Cutie Winners: Newborn - three-years-old: Nash Koch, daughter of Tesa Koch; and Byron Burnham, son of BJ Burnham and Shelby Brooks. Four to six year-old winners were Jaelyn “JJ” Perkins, daughter of Josh Perkins and Jasmine Driskell; and Maddix Devine, son of Tim and Nicki Devine.

The team also hosted a Princess Jr., Princess and Queen contest. Participants for the Princess Jr. contest were to write a 300-500 page essay on what their community means to them. Participants were Alexis Kirby, daughter of Shane and Leah Boyer and Josh and Bethany Kirby; Arienna Stewart, daughter of Kimberly Martin; and Savannah Perkins, daughter of Josh Perkins and Ashley Perkins. Savannah Perkins was the winner of the contest.

Princess and Queen contestants competed in the following categories: evening gown, talent, questionnaires and private interviews prior to the Harvest Festival. Each Princess was given an honorable mention.

Princess contestants recognized for participation and special awards: Trinidi Medlock, daughter of Lynn and Amy Chambers, for “Most Unforgettable”; Alexis Bacon, daughter of Andy and Jennifer Bacon, for “Most Down-to-Earth”; Hilah Drewel, daughter of Cody and Heather Drewel, for “Most Gifted”; and Ryleigh Long, daughter of Tim and Anna Long, for “Most Talented.”

Hilah Drewel was crowned princess 1st - runner-up and Ryleigh Long was crowned princess. Mya Honse age 17, daughter of Steven and Cathy Honse, ran unopposed. However, she scored extremely high in her categories. Mya will represent Belle as the Harvest Festival at the 2020 Missouri State Fair.

Everyone enjoyed the afternoon and entertainment provided by Looney Tunes DJ Services and food was provided by Porkyz.
