William “Kelly” O’Connor, 59, St. James, formerly of Rolla, passed away Monday, June 1, 2020, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born July 7, 1960 to William R. and Nancy O. (Bland) O’Connor in Memphis, Tenn.
He was united in marriage to Doris (Whiteside) O’Connor, Aug. 14, 1983, in Bridgeport, Texas.
Kelly was an active member of Rolla Seventh Day Adventist Church and served as treasurer. He was a 1978 graduate of Cuba High School and a 1986 graduate of Rolla Technical Institute, where he earned the student of the year award. He also obtained his Infrastructure Technology Information Library certification in 2007 and became a Certified Novell Administrator in 2001. Kelly served many roles at Affinia in Cuba, EDS, Ozark Mountain Technologies and LMI Aerospace in Cuba.
He was preceded in death by mother, Nancy; infant son, Darren Schmidt; and daughter, Dawn Renick.
He is survived by wife, Doris; father, William and wife Sharon of Apopka, Fla.; daughters, Sherri Cios and wife Emily of Reno, Nev., Rhonda Miller and husband Kenny of Leasburg and Jenny Friedmann and husband Dan of Eureka; brothers, Edward O’Connor and wife Kelly of Newalla, Okla., Bob O’Connor and wife Judy of Rolla, Andy O’Connor of St. James, Joe O’Connor and wife Kim of New Bloomfield and Jeffrey O’Connor and Carissa of Apopka, Fla.; Kevin O’Connor and wife Jessica; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Sunday, June 14, at the Rolla Seventh Day Adventist Church.
