Plenty of Friday night baseball.

That is what Bryce Gehlert’s Belle Tigers got during pool play at the Linn Tournament in Osage County.

Opening the tournament in a Highway 28 clash with Owensville’s Dutchmen.

Belle broke a 3-3 tie after one inning with three runs in the third and fourth innings of their 10-7 victory over their Highway 28 rivals to the east.

Blake Henry, Clayton Shockley, Hank Stratman and Zane Strunk each had two hits to lead the Tigers against Owensville.

Carter Kinkead and Shockley also each scored a team-high two runs for Belle.

After Cuba defeated Owensville 11-1, a spot in the tournament title game was on the line between Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) rivals Belle and Cuba.

Trailing 1-0 going to the bottom of the first inning, the Tigers sent 13 batters to the plate turning five hits, four walks and an error into nine runs.

After Kinkead pitched a scoreless top of the second inning, Belle’s offense wasted little time adding to their lead in the bottom of the second.

Sending 14 batters to the dish, the Tigers got eight more runs on six walks and three hits punctuated by a Kinkead grand slam home run helping Belle to a 17-1 victory in three innings over the Wildcats.

In addition to being the winning pitcher, Kinkead finished the game with two hits, two runs scored and six RBIs.

Henry also added a pair of hits to go along with three runs scored and four RBIs.

Also scoring two runs apiece for Belle against Cuba Friday night were Garrett Gehlert, Kaiden Robertson, Hank Stratman, Newton and Shockley.

Belle will face Hermann tonight (Wednesday) at 5 p.m., in Linn for the tournament title.
