Come Monday, student athletes throughout Maries County in cross country, volleyball, softball, soccer, girls golf and fall baseball will begin preparations for their respective seasons.

In Belle, the Kaci Jones era of Belle Lady Tiger volleyball will begin Monday from 8 a.m., until 1 p.m., inside the Belle High School (BHS) main gym.

After their preseason jamboree at Dixon on Thursday, Aug. 24, Belle will open their regular season at home on Friday, Aug. 25 in a Highway 89 showdown with Chamois’ Lady Pirates.

Experience an increase in numbers, Samantha Eads’ BHS Cross Country squads will hold practice from 8 a.m., until 9:30 a.m., meeting at Belle High School.

Belle Cross Country will open their season on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at the Vienna Eagle Invitational. They will host their annual home meet at Belle City Park on Thursday, Sept. 21

Bryce Gehlert’s baseball Tigers will hold their opening week of practice preparing for the fall season from 9 a.m., until 11 a.m., at Tiger Field.

After hosting a preseason jamboree on Tuesday, Aug. 22, Belle will officially open their fall season on Friday, Aug. 25 on the road at Richland against the Bears. Their first regular-season home game will be on Tuesday, Aug. 29 against Eugene’s Eagles.

Randis Sanders’ Lady Tiger softball team will go from 4-6 p.m., at Belle City Park during their first full week of practice.

BHS softball will compete in their preseason jamboree at Linn on Tuesday, Aug. 22 before officially opening the regular season on the road at Richland on Friday, Aug. 25.

Sanders’ Lady Tigers will make their 2023 home debut on Friday, Sept. 1 hosting Eugene’s Lady Eagles at 5 p.m.

Soccer will return to the Belle-Bland Soccer Complex this fall after a long hiatus.

Megan Fisher will coach a co-ed squad made up of Tiger and Lady Tiger players.

As of a recent interest meeting, Belle had 15 boys and seven girls interested in competing on the pitch.

Going co-ed this fall would allow the seven girls to at least have a season in the event they do not have any additional players for their spring season.

They will practice during week one from 5:30-8 p.m., at the soccer complex located just outside the city limits of Belle.

As of press time, their first scheduled match is Tuesday, Sept. 5 at home against Maranatha Baptist’s Warriors.

Rounding out the slate of fall sports in Belle will be girls golf who will hold their opening week of practice at Pine Ridge Golf Course from 4:30-6 p.m.

David Martin’s Vienna Cross Country squads will kick off fall sports practice by going from 6:30 a.m., until 7:45 a.m., Monday morning meeting at Vienna City Park.

Vienna High School cross country will open the season on their home course during the Vienna Eagle Invitational on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

Chandler Harker’s Vienna Lady Eagle softball team will look to add another Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) and district title to their impressive list of accomplishments during week one of practice running from 5-6:30 p.m., at the softball field in Vienna City Park.

Harker’s Lady Eagles will compete in their preseason jamboree on Saturday, Aug. 19 at Richland before opening the regular season Friday, Aug. 25 hosting Stoutland’s Lady Tigers.

Taking over the reigns of the Vienna Eagle baseball program, first-year head coach Dakota Mason will hold his opening week of practice from 3:30-6 p.m., at Vienna City Park.

Mason’s Eagles will compete in the fall preseason jamboree at Stoutland on Friday, Aug. 18 before officially opening their fall season on Monday, Aug. 28 against Tuscumbia on the road.

Mason will make his home head-coaching debut on Thursday, Aug. 31 when Vienna hosts Licking.
