Fall Baseball Tigers bang out 42 runs in three games

Already with two wins in their back pocket last week, Bryce Gehlert’s Belle fall baseball Tigers went for a third victory hosting Bourbon’s Warhawks last Thursday.

Behind a nine-run second inning, Belle went on to defeat the Warhawks 17-1 in four innings behind three hits each from Blake Henry, Luke Rohrer and Carter Kinkead.

Finishing a triple shy of the cycle, Henry led the bottom of the first inning off with a solo home run starting up Belle’s offense.

Clayton Shockley also wound up with two hits, five runs batted in (RBI) and two runs scored against the Warhawks.

Hank Stratman pitched all four innings to earn the win against the Warhawks while allowing an unearned run on one hit to go with seven walks and seven strikeouts.

Last Tuesday with New Bloomfield’s Wildcats visiting Tiger Field, Belle needed a five-run bottom of the sixth inning to hold on for a 15-7 win over the visiting Wildcats.

Leading the Belle offense with two hits apiece against New Bloomfield were Stratman, Shockley and Henry.

Kinkead’s lone hit of the game against New Bloomfield was a two-run home run as part of Belle’s four-run bottom of the second inning.

He finished with a team-high three RBIs and two runs scored.

After Stratman scored a game-high three runs for Belle, Tiger teammates that also scored two runs apiece included Garrett Gehlert, Cooper Durbin, Henry, Kinkead and Rohrer.

Driving in two runs each after Kinkead’s three for the Tigers were Hunter Wulff, Durbin and Shockley.

Throwing 79 pitches over four innings, Shockley earned the win against New Bloomfield allowing four runs (two earned) on four hits to go with four walks and nine strikeouts.

Kinkead pitched the final three innings in relief allowing three unearned runs on one hit and four walks to go with four strikeouts.

Last Monday in Steelville, A five-run top of the third inning led to a 10-0 road win for Belle over the Cardinals in five innings.

Belle will be in the Vienna Fall Classic this weekend.
