Falling 6-5 last Tuesday at Belle City Park against St. James’ Lady Tigers, Randis Sanders’ Belle Lady Tigers were scheduled to face Laquey’s Lady Hornets on senior night two nights later.

Rain fall last Wednesday made field conditions unplayable the next day and forced the postponement of senior night to last Friday.

Jumping out on top 2-0 after one inning, Belle sent 13 batters to the plate in the bottom of the third inning leading to eight runs and a 10-0 lead after four innings.

In spite of allowing a run in the top of the fifth, Sanders’ Belle Lady Tigers sent seniors Natalie Gehlert, Dakota Butcher, Miranda Sanders and Nevaeh Kinsey off on a winning note after a 10-1 victory over the visiting Lady Hornets.

Working around a leadoff single in the top of the first inning, Kinsey kept Laquey off the board giving her Belle offense a chance to give her an early lead.

Aubrey Rehmert and Gehlert drew consecutive walks to lead off the bottom of the first inning for Belle.

Stealing second and third base, Rehmert scored on a Butcher RBI ground out breaking the scoreless tie.

Gehlert scored later in the frame on a wild pitch doubling Belle’s lead to 2-0 after one inning.

Kinsey recorded two strikeouts in the top of the second inning in between which Gehlert threw out a would be Lady Hornet base stealer.

Mallorie Reasor walked to lead off the bottom of the second inning before being retired on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Savannah Perkins.

Perkins was left stranded after a pair of strikeouts ended the second inning with Belle still leading 2-0.

In spite of allowing back-to-back singles to start the top of the third inning, Kinsey retired Laquey’s next three batters to keep them off the scoreboard entering Belle’s half of the third inning.

Gehlert started the bottom of the third reaching on an error before scoring on Butcher’s two-run home run stretching Belle’s lead to 5-0.

Kinsey then singled and scored when Sanders reached on a dropped third strike.

Victoria Busch would draw a walk and score on a wild pitch after Sanders crossed the plate on a passed ball.

Reasor then drew her second walk of the game before Ileana Sullinger reached on an error.

Rehmert added to her first-inning walk with a two-RBI double driving in Reasor and Sullinger capping Belle’s eight-run third inning giving them a 10-0 lead.

Following a scoreless fourth inning, Laquey extended the game to the bottom of the fifth inning turning two hits and a walk into a run cutting Belle’s lead to 10-1.

Aside from one baserunner for each team over the final two innings, Belle walked away with a 10-1 senior-night victory.

Earning the complete-game win, Kinsey allowed one run on six hits and two walks to go with seven strikeouts.

Even with being outhit 6-5, Belle got two hits each from Butcher and Kinsey.

Last Tuesday at Belle City Park against St. James, Belle tied the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the sixth before St. James answered with two runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Even with three walks and a hit in the bottom of the seventh inning, Maries County’s Lady Tigers could not push the tying run across before falling 6-5 to St. James’ Lady Tigers out of Phelps County.

Butcher led Belle against St. James with three hits, three runs batted in and a run scored while Rehmert added two hits, three runs scored and a RBI.
